Congratulations to 'masterchef in the making' Jasmine Oskay, who has been offered the opportunity to work alongside Head Chef, Ben Fisher, at The Mermaid Inn in Rye. Ben has previously worked at prestigious Michelin Star restaurants including Fischer's in Baslow, The French Laundry in California, and with leading chefs Thomas Keller, Harrods, and Tom Aikens, London.
Since starting her work experience at The Mermaid, Year 12 student Jasmine has been able to work across the departments to experience a variety of roles in hospitality, including front of house, reception, portering and now the kitchen. As any fan of Masterchef or The Bake-Off will appreciate, the opportunity to work with a leading chef doesn't come easily, so we are especially proud of Jasmine's achievement - and are looking forward to sampling some of her cuisine!
